Refunds
Fourteen days to change your mind, and Paddle, who took the payment, answers every request. If we charged you for a plan that never arrived, we ask for the refund ourselves rather than waiting for you to.
Who you paid
Paddle is the merchant of record for everything sold here. It takes the payment, it is the name on your card statement, and it decides refunds under its own Refund Policy. Jacob Risk Management Ltd. operates the calculator; Paddle sells it to you. Your card details go to Paddle and never reach us.
If you change your mind
You have 14 days from the day you pay to ask for your money back. A subscription that renews starts a fresh 14 days of its own, so a renewal you meant to cancel is not a year you are stuck with.
Asking inside those 14 days is not a guarantee of a refund. Paddle reads each request on its own and decides, and it will not refund where it finds evidence of fraud or refund abuse. We have set our window to Paddle's so that no request falls into a gap between the two and has to be granted by hand.
What the law where you live gives you
These come on top of the 14 days above, and Paddle applies whichever protection is highest for your country.
- Canada. Seven days from the transaction to cancel digital content or a service contract after delivery, unconditionally.
- The EU, Switzerland and the UK. Fourteen days to withdraw from a one-off purchase or a subscription's first payment. It may not apply once you have started using what you bought, if you agreed to have it straight away.
- The United States. No statutory window, so the 14 days above are what you have.
Paddle's Refund Policy has the rest, country by country, and it is the one that governs.
How to ask
Use the link on the receipt Paddle emailed you, or go to paddle.net and look your order up with the email address you paid with. Paddle answers you directly. Write to us at info@retopt.com instead and we will point you there, which costs you a day, so start at Paddle.
When we refund you without being asked
Two things we can charge for and then fail to deliver. Neither waits for you to notice it.
- We take the payment and then decline to answer. A few households are ones this calculator should not answer, and some of those only become clear once you have filled in the form. When that happens the page says which rule it is and why, and the payment goes back.
- The calculation ends without a plan. The first time, nothing is spent: the page offers to start it again and you are not charged twice. If a second attempt ends the same way, we refund you.
A plan that arrived and then lost a chart or a slider is not one of these. It is the same plan you would have been given on any other day, and the parts that failed are drawn again when you reopen it.
We ask Paddle, and Paddle pays. Most refunds go through straight away and some are reviewed first, so give it a few days to reach your card.
Cancelling a subscription
Cancel any time, from your account or at paddle.net. Cancelling stops the next renewal. It is not itself a refund of the year you are in; for that, ask within the 14 days above.
What a refund changes
- A plan you paid for and have not run yet. The purchase is void and will not start one.
- A plan you have already run. You keep it, link and all. Once a plan has landed, nothing in what we hold joins it to a payment, which is the same fact that lets the Privacy page promise what it does.
- A subscription. It is cancelled and the account turns read-only: open your plans, print them, export them, delete them, but no new ones. Nothing is deleted, and subscribing again brings all of it back.
